You’ve had a long week at work and you get home to find that your little Fluffy isn’t feeling so fluffy. You love her, but adding one more thing to your errands list does not sound appealing.

We’d like to tell you about telemedicine through TeleVet.

How Televet Works. TeleVet is a great way to consult with your vets right here at Town N Country without bringing your pet in for a visit. It’s easy to do. First you download the TeleVet app on your phone by going here. You’ll add your name and email address, then your pet’s name. After you indicate whether or not you have a dog or a cat, you’ll “Find nearby practices” and choose Town N Country. A few more questions and you are registered. You only have to do this once per pet!

After you are registered, click “New Consultation”, which will take you to a screen where you can explain your issues, and even upload images, videos, or documents! Choose whether you would like a phone call or a video call, enter payment information, and you’re done.

It takes about ten minutes – about the time it takes you to find the cat carrier and convince Fluffy to crawl in.

Within 24 hours one of our amazing staff will set up an appointment for a virtual consult for you and Fluffy. You can then instant message with our vets or choose a video consultation.

When You Can TeleVet. We are excited to offer this service on weekdays from 11am until 10pm, or weekends from noon until 11pm. While this service is amazing, per North Carolina law, your pet must have been seen in our office for an in person exam within the last 12 months to qualify.

What Types of Illness Does it Cover? While TeleVet is a convenient way to consult with us without bringing your pet in, it isn’t for everything. It’s great for minor ear infections, follow up appointments, consultations, future treatment plans, services that don’t require diagnostics, or severe infections. An in person visit may be needed for more severe skin and ear infections as well as more complex issues.

Whatever your reason for being at home – quarantining, a long week, rain, cold or you’re peopled’ out – TeleMedicine through TeleVet may be a great option for you and your pet.

Download the app today to begin or contact our office with any questions!
