fear free questionsEvery pet experiences the world differently. Their past experiences, sensitivities, and stress triggers can significantly affect how they respond during a veterinary visit. Part of being a Fear Free Certified Practice is ensuring that every pet who enters our hospital is cared for with their unique history, sensitivities, and stressors in mind.

Because we can’t communicate with pets in their own language (yet!), we’re introducing a new questionnaire, the Fear Free Pre‑Visit Questionnaire through Chckvet. It helps us gather the details we need to support your pet’s emotional wellbeing from the people who know your pet best – you!

The questionnaire will be presented to you as you make an appointment, whether that be on the phone or through the Chckvet app. It will ask you to share important details about your pet’s behavior, preferences, and emotional needs so our team can prepare appropriately. We’ll use the information to create a safer, calmer, and more personalized experience for your furbaby.

Each client is required to complete the questionnaire once per calendar year. After a form is submitted, the system will not send another until the following year unless you specifically request an update. This ensures we maintain accurate, up‑to‑date information while keeping the process simple.

Once a questionnaire is received, our rock star customer service rep team will review the responses carefully and update the pet’s record with any new or important information. This way, every team member – reception, technicians, assistants, and doctors – has access to the latest behavioral and emotional information for each patient.

Please note that this process is a required part of a visit with us, whether that be veterinary care, Doggy Daycare, grooming, or boarding. Maintaining accurate emotional and behavioral information is essential to the Fear Free model and to the high standard of care we provide.
