When your pet is sick, it feels urgent. That makes it hard to know when you should use Town N Country’s Urgent Care services. Here’s a handy guide:
What is Urgent Care? We consider urgent care a non life threatening emergency that still needs to be addressed in a timely fashion.
Examples may include:
- acute vomiting or diarrhea
- minor wounds
- snake bites or insect stings
- ingestion of non foods or toxins
- skin issues
- ear infections
- UTIs
- lameness or limping
- eye issues
We operate our Forestdale location as our Urgent Care office. Drop off appointments for there can be scheduled in advance but timed appointments with the doctor are not scheduled until the day of. They are scheduled on a first come first serve basis, so calling as early as possible in the day will ensure the best availability to be seen. Appointments at Forestdale cannot be booked via our online booking system; you must call for these appointments so a receptionist can assess the situation.
What About Life Threatening Emergencies? We are not an emergency hospital or a 24 hour facility. In some instances we may be able to assess and stabilize a patient, but then a referral could be recommended for further care or so the pet could receive overnight monitoring.
Before you come, call us to determine if your pet needs emergency vs urgent care. The receptionist can assess the situation, and get any needed information before the pet arrives.
We care about your pet – and you – and we are committed to seeing that your pet gets the best care possible in any situation, whether it be a happy visit, a check up, when they’re just not right and need a doctor check, urgent care, or an emergency. If you’re in doubt, call us and talk to our amazing front office staff.
