If the dog days of summer are getting you and your puppy down, we have a suggestion. Go on a dog-cation. And no, you don’t have to break the bank to do it. Here are some local places that are dog friendly, low cost/free, and a whole lot of fun.
Dog Parks. We’re always surprised at how many people have never taken Parker to the dog park. Here are a few places that doggies can run around off leash, making friends and getting in some summer exercise:

Baseball Games! On Sunday home games, the Burlington Sock Puppets have Sock Puppy Club Nights! Admission for dogs is $3, regular prices for you.
Stores. Everyone knows that most pet stores welcome animals, but you might be surprised what other stores allow or even encourage canine visits. Next time you head to the hardware store, call ahead to see if they will welcome Thunder.
Walking Trails. Alamance County has lots of great walking trails, many of which are leashed-dog friendly. Augustus will love the activity, the smells, and the companionship!
Drive Thru Windows. Dairy Queen, Starbucks, Chic-Fil-A, Sonic, and Shake Shack are among the restaurants that offer pup friendly treats. Dunkin Donuts has a puppy latte. Banks also often give doggy treats. Make sure Sunshine only is given these in moderation!
Visit Grandparents. If you have friends or family members who can’t get out much, taking your dog for a visit can be a great treat! Make sure that Charlie would be welcome.) Even if he’s not, we’re sure your relative would love a visit from you!❤️
