Amanda Le has made us so proud! She’s been selected as a recipient of the prestigious AAVSB Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) Program Director’s Award. This award is a big deal! It’s for outstanding graduating students from accredited veterinary technology and nursing programs. We always knew that Amanda was dedicated and passionate, and we’re thrilled that she’s been recognized for those amazing qualities by the AAVSB!

Amanda attended Dallas College at Cedar Valley in Lancaster, Texas, completing her coursework online while working full-time. After over 2.5 years of diligent studying and perseverance, she graduated in May, 2025.

We asked Amanda what led her to vet tech school. “I’ve always loved working with animals and I also thoroughly enjoy learning new things and broadening my knowledge and skills.” That curiosity and drive is what brought her to Town in Country in the first place! Amanda is eager to pursue Continuing Education opportunities in the near future, especially around one of her favorite topics: exotic animal care.

During her classes, Amanda was surprised by how much foundational knowledge she had already picked up as a veterinary assistant over the past decade. “I always joke that I have a lot of ‘useless knowledge,’ but I have found it to be more useful than not, especially when I was in school,” she said. That hands-on experience boosted her academic learning and reinforced her confidence as a skilled and insightful technician.

One subject stood out: exotic animals. “I loved learning more about exotics and how to properly handle and provide care for various species. Exotics are my favorite patients, and I would love to continue to expand and deepen my knowledge through CE.”

At TNC, Amanda finds joy and support in the team spirit that drives our exceptional patient care. “I love the sense of family and the collaborative effort behind the scenes…The day you stop learning is the day you stop growing; knowledge truly is power.”

The VTNE Program Director’s Award not only honors Amanda’s accomplishments but also highlights the importance of removing financial barriers and supporting the dreams of future veterinary professionals. Recipients are nominated by faculty, and they are examples of the highest standards in veterinary technician education.

Congratulations, Amanda! Your dedication, intellect, and compassion are a beacon for others entering the field. TNC values team, and we’re so very happy to have you on the team at Town N Country. We can’t wait to see all the amazing ways you’ll continue to make a difference.
