First impressions matter. That’s why we like having Amanda Schneider as one of the first people our pets encounter at Town N Country. Amanda is one of our receptionists. She loves pets, and they know it. She also loves helping people. That combination makes her perfect for our front office.
It also led her to her first job at Pet Supermarket, shortly after she moved to Burlington from New Jersey. She loved what she did there so much that she got an associate degree in animal care and management from ACC. While there, she began working directly with animals at a boarding facility, and also as a volunteer with Burlington Animal Services. And then she came to us!
At Town N Country, Amanda is one of the voices on the phone – or the fingers behind the texts – who helps our clients and pets. When an owner calls with a problem, she delights in working through the problem and finding a solution. She’s a master at facilitating communication between pet owners and our veterinarians. She also fills preventatives, checks in appointments and boarders, runs paperwork, answers emails and voicemails, files, and cleans the lobby. If you bring your pet for a happy visit, Amanda makes the happy happen.
You probably have guessed that one of Amanda’s favorite things are her pets. She got her first pet as a five year old – a shepherd named Cassie. She now has four cats – Ghoul, Gidget, Estella, and Basil. Ghoul is 8 and from BAS, Estella is 2 and from Sparkle Cat Rescue, and Gidget and Basil started out as fosters. She also has a hairless guinea pig (skinny pig) named Parsnip, a Syrian hamster named Todd, a leopard gecko named Mecko, and a hedgehog named Minnie.
She continues to foster cats from both Sparkle Cat and Burlington Animals Services. She also likes video games, books, and crafts.
Amanda may not be back in the treatment room with the animals, but she is absolutely an integral part in their care, helping pets get better and also helping the owners understand what to do and how to make decisions.
Our clients tell us over and over that Amanda makes their problems her priority, stopping everything to resolve issues. She takes every case personally. Amanda has a heart for pets. Amanda has a heart for people with pets and at Town N Country, we have a heart for Amanda!
